The book of Deuteronomy has been described as the Romans of the Old Testament. As Israel camps on the east side of the Jordan River, on the brink of taking their promised inheritance, their aged leader Moses delivers a number of stirring speeches to them. Most of these addresses center around the importance of covenant faithfulness and the urgent need for the descendants of Abraham to follow the divine directives of God. Intertwined in the pleas of Moses are rich, theological truths about the nature of God and the relationship between Him and His chosen people.
