Since everything the church does should be governed by the Word of God, you will find us observing only those things contained in the New Testament. We always do our best to duplicate the Biblical pattern of the early church. This does not mean we are perfect, just struggling to conform ourselves to the pattern that the Lord has given us in the scripture. When you visit us you will observe:
On the Lord's Day (during the morning service) we reverentially observe the Lord's supper. The brother attending the table will take the bread, give thanks for it, eat, and pass it to another until each disciple has partaken. He will then take the cup, give thanks for it, drink, and pass it to another until each disciple has partaken. This is the New Testament pattern, which is repeated by our congregation each first day of the week (Acts 20:7). If you are not a member of the Lord's Church, you need not feel obligated to participate in the Lord's Supper. We collect contributions during the Lord's Day morning worship service. If you are not a member of the Lord's Church, you need not feel obligated to participate in the contribution. You are always welcome as an honored guest. You need not fear being singled out or embarrassed. However, be prepared for Biblical teaching in the spirit of our Lord and His disciples. We desire to speak the "truth in love". (Ephesians 4:15) |
